Description
Chioggia beetroot is not only delicious but also beautiful, with its pink and white striped flesh that pleasantly surprises. Discover why this Italian variety is a must-have in your garden:
Characteristics and Uses:
- Chioggia beetroot offers a sweet and mild flavor, highly appreciated when eaten raw in salads. However, it is worth noting that its distinctive color fades when cooked.
- This variety can be successfully grown in your vegetable garden or even in pots on your balcony or terrace, offering great flexibility for urban gardeners.
- Sowing can be done from March to June, allowing for staggered harvests and maximum enjoyment of this delicious beetroot throughout the season.
- To promote germination, it is recommended to soak the seeds in water for 1 hour before sowing. Additionally, beetroot is the only root vegetable that can be easily transplanted, which facilitates its cultivation.
