2006
A lifelong garden enthusiast, David began building his seed collections in 2006. Urban agriculture and permaculture gradually fueled this passion.
2015
A small seed company is founded in 2015. The dandelion is already featured in its logo: an initial symbol of this desire to sow and share, which has accompanied the journey from the very beginning.
August 2019
David Gary launched the business in August 2019. After seventeen years devoted to urban planning and protected areas, his perspective on landscapes informs another way of supporting living things, at the scale of the garden.
2025
We take possession of our new premises. The order-shipping offices and sachet shelving find their place there: a new chapter in the history of SemiSauvage.
Today
From Auvergne, SemiSauvage selects seeds from partner growers and carefully prepares your orders. Vegetables, flowers, herbs, trees, and rarer varieties: diversity remains at the heart of the adventure.
Neither completely abandoned nor completely tamed: a nature we work with. Cultivating, nurturing, observing… and leaving it some freedom.
The dandelion, present from the very first logo, embodies this spirit. A familiar plant, a seed that travels, and the promise of a new beginning. This is the freedom we love to rediscover in the garden.

A new step in 2025
In 2025, we moved into our new premises. The shipping offices and sachet shelving stand side by side there, supporting the daily work of preparing your orders. Here’s a glimpse of this place where the SemiSauvage adventure continues.

We are committed to several causes that matter deeply to us and reflect our core values.
Quality and traceability
We select our seeds from partner producers. For most varieties, germination tests are carried out by the producers. Batch information and traceability documents support this selection process. We also conduct our own in-house tests, such as the one shown below for chives. We then take the same care with storage, packaging, and preparing your orders.
Our packaging
We favor paper and recyclable packaging suited to protecting the seeds. The packaging is prepared with care, with the aim of limiting unnecessary materials and waste.
Diversity in the garden
From familiar vegetables to wildflowers, herbs to trees: we love varieties that bring flavor, color, and curiosity to the garden. Our selection also includes rarer seeds, to inspire even more discoveries.
Reproducible seeds
All our seeds are open-pollinated: once your crop has reached maturity, you can collect the seeds and sow them again the following year, season after season. This practice, passed down from generation to generation, allows your varieties to gradually adapt to your soil and climate, while freeing you from having to buy new seeds every time. It is a simple way to grow a more self-sufficient, economical garden that is more respectful of living things.

Our seeds come from a network of growers based primarily in France, supplemented by partners in Europe and, more occasionally, further afield, for the rarest varieties or those that are difficult to find locally. This diversity of partners allows us to continually expand our catalogue while maintaining a relationship of trust with each of them, from the field to your garden. From production through to shipping your orders, we use recyclable packaging to minimize plastic waste and promote the circular economy.

La Ferme Urbaine Clermont Auvergne is a neighborhood garden and a place for living, strolling, visits, market gardening, and cultural activities, fostering encounters and exchanges. It provides a green setting in the city, with an ornamental garden and a vegetable garden developed according to the principles of agroecology and permaculture.
Semis Sauvages is a permaculture consultancy and a permaculture training center.
We are proud to support the T&T cooperative, a family-run, community-minded project founded in Cameroon in 2018 from the vision of Titus TÔÔ and his wife Tsagué. On an 11-hectare plot in Ebolakounou, 100 km from Yaoundé, they are developing an eco-agropastoral and tourism farm with around ten local families, through a cooperative founded on resource sharing.
Organic plantations of plantains, avocado trees, citrus trees, and cocoa trees, along with market gardening, are flourishing there in respect for the land and its people. SemiSauvage Permaculture is honored to contribute, in its own small way, to this meaningful project with a promising future.
SEMAE, the interprofessional organization for seeds and plants, established in 1941 and amended in 1962, is the interprofessional organization for France’s seed and plant sector, recognized in June 2014 by decree of the Ministry of Agriculture. A forum for dialogue, exchange, and decision-making, bringing together all types of seeds for all their uses.

A quality and official control department, known as “SOC-France,” to which the State entrusts, through a performance and objectives contract, official control and quality certification missions for seeds and plants, as well as health inspections and the issuance of plant passports for seeds and plants.
Adelphe is a state-approved service organization and an eco-organization whose mission is to reduce the environmental impact of packaging. A key player in decarbonization, it is particularly active in the wine and spirits, food service, and healthcare sectors. Through the environmental contribution paid by companies in these sectors, Adelphe advises them on reducing, reusing, and recycling their paper and packaging, funds local authorities to improve collection and sorting, and raises awareness among its audiences about best practices and the right actions to adopt. In 2024, more than 15,000 companies are members of Adelphe and contribute approximately €90 million to developing this circular model, helping decarbonize the economy, and thereby preserving the environment and biodiversity.
