Description
Wild raspberry, a fruity delight to grow in your garden! Here is everything you need to know to succeed in its cultivation:
Description:
- A sub-shrub related to the bramble, wild raspberry is grown for its delicate and fragrant fruits. Undemanding, it grows well in almost all soils.
Growing Conditions:
- Soil: Wild raspberry adapts to different soil types but prefers rich, light, fertile, and cool soils. Avoid clay soils.
- Location: Place it at the edge of the vegetable garden or in a well-sunny spot, sheltered from the wind. Avoid lawns where it could compete with grasses.
- Light: It needs plenty of light, so choose a sunny or slightly shaded spot.
Planting tips:
- Sowing: Sow in a nursery or directly in the ground according to your preference.
- Spacing: Maintain a spacing of about 60 to 80 cm between each plant.
- Watering: Make sure to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, especially during hot periods.
- Raspberry seeds generally require cold stratification to optimize germination.
