20 Black-Eyed Susan Seeds
Description
The black-eyed Susan is a fast-growing climbing plant that blooms abundantly. Here is some useful information about these seeds:
Description:
- The black-eyed Susan is a tender plant often grown as an annual. It is easy to grow and only needs a support to climb and regular watering to sustain its summer flowering.
- It produces numerous funnel-shaped flowers in golden yellow, orange, creamy yellow, or white colors, with a dark brown center that attracts pollinating insects.
- Although this plant can live for several years, it is often treated as an annual because its first bloom is generally more abundant than the following ones. However, it can bloom again the following year if overwintered frost-free, or even flower all winter in a conservatory or a warm greenhouse.
- It can be grown in pots, in the ground, on a railing, a fence, a trellis, a pergola, or as ground cover. In flower beds, it can be planted at the base of a pyramidal stake. It is also suitable for hanging baskets.
Cultivation:
- Sowing can be done in pots or directly in the ground. For outdoor sowing, late April is preferred.
- If necessary, transplant the young plants 1 and a half to 2 months after sowing.
