Description
Phacelia is a fast-growing green manure, ideal for enriching soils and controlling wild herbs in your vegetable garden. Here is what you need to know about these seeds:
Description:
- As a green manure, phacelia is known for its rapid growth, which enriches the soil with nutrients and suppresses weeds in the vegetable garden.
- Its blue flowering is particularly appreciated by bees and also attracts many other beneficial insects for the garden such as hoverflies, predators of aphids, and micro-hymenoptera, parasites of the codling moth of the apple.
- Beekeepers use phacelia to produce a very fragrant honey, making it a very attractive melliferous plant.
Usage:
- Phacelia is also used as a crop rotation plant in the vegetable garden, as it blocks weed growth and helps clean the soil.
- It can be sown in spring or in September.
- All soil types are suitable for growing phacelia, which is an additional advantage for gardeners.
