🌸 Variegated Coronilla (Securigera varia) – 80 seeds

Also called Crown Vetch, Variegated Coronilla, or Variegated Crown Vetch, Securigera varia is a creeping perennial plant native to Europe and temperate Asia. Very honey-bearing, it is especially appreciated for its pale pink to bright pink flowers, which appear in graceful umbels throughout the summer.

It is valued for its ability to enrich the soil, limit erosion, and beautify slopes, meadows, or borders.
Coronilla is distinguished by its fine foliage and honey-bearing flowers gathered in umbels. Very drought-resistant, it forms a dense ground cover that attracts pollinators and improves soil structure thanks to its ability to fix nitrogen. It can reach up to 50 cm in height and spreads generously.

Uses:

• Excellent green manure for poor or fallow soils.

• Ideal for combating erosion on sloping terrain.

• Ornamental in natural gardens, flower meadows, and rustic borders.

Growing tips:

Sow in place in spring or autumn. Germination can be improved by a  cold stratification of 2 to 3 weeks .
Choose a location in full sun with well-drained soil, even calcareous. Watering is only necessary during establishment.
Coronilla is perennial and hardy, resistant down to -20°C.

Associations: 

Ideal in combination with grasses, yarrow, or in wildflower mixes for natural meadows.
