The Tritome, also known as False Aloe or Kniphofia, is a plant with spectacular flowers that will surely attract all eyes in your garden. Learn more about this fascinating plant:
Description:
- The Tritome, also called Devil's Torch, is famous for its unique and flamboyant flower spikes, which stand on long rigid stems. Its flowers, either solid-colored or bicolored, are truly spectacular and attract bees as well as other pollinating insects.
- Although relatively little used in gardens so far, the Tritome is gaining increasing interest due to its remarkable beauty. It can reach a height of about fifty centimeters, with flower spikes often exceeding this size to form a magnificent bouquet of bright colors.
- The Tritome prefers warm locations and mild winters, but it can adapt to a variety of conditions as long as the soil is well-drained and retains little water. In regions with harsh winters, protection against the cold is recommended.
- The best planting times are early autumn and spring. If you choose to grow in a pot, be sure to use quality potting soil and drain the bottom of the pot with gravel. A pot at least 30 cm in diameter is recommended for the first sowing, and it is advisable to repot into a 40 cm pot the following year.
