Description :
- The spinosa caper tree is a bushy, branching and perennial shrub. It offers either flower buds to transform into capers, or magnificent fragrant white flowers.
- Flowering is spectacular with white flowers with numerous purple stamens, although these flowers only last a day. The flowering period is generally in June-July.
- This plant has a spreading habit of approximately 50 cm by 1 meter. Its drooping or spreading branches give it a graceful appearance.
- The caper tree is semi-hardy down to -5°C and very resistant to drought. It is suitable for suspension, flowerbeds, wall borders, fences and dry rockeries. It can also be grown in a veranda or temperate greenhouse.
Cultivation Conditions:
- Native to Mediterranean regions, the caper tree appreciates heat. In France, it is recommended to plant it in the ground only in the South. For other regions, growing in pots is preferable, with storage protected from the cold in winter.
