200 Leek Seeds
Description
The leek, an iconic winter vegetable of our gardens, is both hardy and delicious. Here is why it deserves a special place in your garden:
Characteristics:
- Winter Hardiness: The leek can remain in the ground during winter and be harvested as needed, making it an ideal choice for seasonal gardens.
- Ease of Cultivation: This vegetable requires little maintenance and is easy to grow, even for beginner gardeners.
- Nutritional Qualities: Rich in vitamins, fibers, and essential oils, the leek offers a variety of health benefits.
- Growing Conditions: Prefer a temperate, mild, and humid climate to grow your leeks. They withstand extreme temperatures well, down to -20°C. Choose a sunny exposure and loose, deep, fresh, well-drained, and humus-rich soil.
- Association with Carrots: In the vegetable garden, leeks get along well with carrots, forming a beneficial association where the smell of leek repels the carrot fly, while the carrot keeps away the leek moth.
Sowing Tips:
- Leek seeds can be sown indoors or under cover during winter or early spring, or directly in place from February to September.
- Prepare the soil by scratching it and removing stones to ensure good drainage.
- Be sure to stagger sowings to extend the harvest period.
Commitment to Quality: SemiSauvage - Permaculture leek seeds are reproducible, non-hybrid, and adapted to the region near the Auvergne Volcanoes. They are carefully selected, sorted, stored, and packaged, guaranteed free of any chemical treatment, for the greatest pleasure of amateur gardeners.
Add a touch of freshness and nutrition to your garden with these quality leek seeds.
