The Royal Flamboyant (Delonix regia), also called Flame Tree, Flame-Tree, or Poinciana, is one of the most beautiful tropical trees in the world, known for its spectacular scarlet red flowering. Native to Madagascar, it is now cultivated in many warm regions for its exceptional ornamental appeal.

This deciduous species (not perennial in cold climates) can reach up to 10 meters in height under optimal conditions. Its finely cut leaves give it a light and elegant appearance, while its flamboyant flowers transform any landscape into a living painting during the warm season.

Usage:
The Royal Flamboyant is a decorative tree par excellence. It is often planted alone to enhance tropical gardens or in rows along avenues in frost-free areas. Its flowering attracts pollinators and brings an intense splash of color to sunny environments.

Planting tips:

• Thermal stratification required: Soak seeds in hot water for 24 hours before sowing to promote germination.

• Germination temperature: around 25-30 °C.

• Requires a light, well-drained soil and a very sunny exposure.

• Possible to grow in pots in cold climate regions, with indoor wintering as it does not tolerate frost.
