Mycelium of Trumpet of Death - Mushroom cultivation kit

Description :

This sterilized tube contains Death's Trumpet mycelium (Craterellus cornucopioides), a mushroom prized for its rich flavor and distinctive shape.

Growing Instructions:

1. Preparing the sugar water mixture:

   • Use bottled mineral water to reduce the presence of chlorine.
   • Add about 10% glucose-based apple or lemon syrup, without preservatives, to the volume of water.

2. Adding the mycelium:

   • For a 1.5 liter bottle of water, add 15 ml of mycelium.
   • For a 5 liter bottle, add 50 ml of mycelium.
   • Shake gently to mix the mycelium into the sugary liquid.

3. Mycelium development:

   • Place the mixture away from light in a room maintained at a temperature of at least 20°C for 4 to 5 days to allow the mycelium to develop.

4. Soil inoculation:

   • Dig holes about 20 cm deep in your garden or in the forest, near beech trees, oak trees, chestnut trees, hazel trees, or under conifers.
   • Cover the hole with a compost mixture of coarsely decomposed leaves, wood, straw, or humus. Make sure the substrate stays moist for a few days.

5. Growth Conditions:

   • Death Trumpets prefer heavy, very moist soils, such as clay soils.
   • They generally grow in autumn, from August to November, requiring cool soil and exposure to sunlight.
