100 Chinese Lantern Seeds (Physalis alkenkegi franchetti)
Description
The Chinese Lantern, also known as "love in a cage," is a hardy perennial plant that is easy to grow. Its main appeal lies in its orange membranes, which resemble lanterns and surround the small edible berries. These lanterns shine brightly in autumn. Essential in dried bouquets, the fruit, fleshy and juicy, becomes edible when ripe. Although exceptionally rich in vitamins A, B, and C, the acidic fruit is far from having the delicious taste of the Cape gooseberry.
Features:
- Appearance and use: The Chinese Lantern is both a decorative and functional plant. Its bright orange lanterns add a vibrant touch of color to any garden. It is also a popular choice for dried bouquets, adding a unique dimension to any floral arrangement.
- Easy to grow: This deciduous perennial plant is very easy to grow, adapting to almost all soil types. It can even thrive in pots, offering a practical option for gardeners with limited space.
