This kit contains one tube of liquid mycelium of Trumpets of Death ( Craterellus cornucopioides ), produced under optimal sterile conditions. The mycelium is ready to be diluted in a sugar water solution to start the culture.
Death Trumpets thrive in symbiosis with trees such as:
- Beeches
- Oaks
- Chestnut trees
- Hazel trees
- Conifers
They prefer rich, heavy soils (e.g., clay), very moist, with moderate sun exposure.

Growing Instructions

Preparation of the sugar water mixture :
- Use bottled mineral water to minimize the presence of chlorine.
- Add about 10% preservative-free apple or lemon syrup (glucose/fructose).
- Mix the contents of the mycelium tube at a rate of 15 ml for a 1.5 liter bottle or 50 ml for a 5 liter bottle.
- Shake gently to distribute the mycelium evenly.

Mycelium development :
- Place the mixture in a dark room at a stable temperature of at least 20°C.
- Let stand for 4 to 5 days until the mycelium filaments develop and the liquid becomes cloudy.

Soil inoculation :
- Dig holes or furrows about 20 cm deep near the target trees.
- Fill the holes with a mixture of leaf compost, wood, straw or humus.
- Spread the mycelium mix over the substrate, then add a thin layer of mulch to retain moisture.

Environmental conditions :
- Humidity : Maintain high humidity, especially during dry periods.
- Temperature : Favor a climate between 10°C and 25°C.
- Exposure : Favor semi-shaded or shaded areas.
Seasonality and harvest
- Inoculation : Spring or early fall, when weather conditions are mild and humid.
- Expected Fruiting : Death Trumpets generally appear from August to November, approximately 2 to 3 years after inoculation.
