Cultivation instructions
-
Preparation of the sugar water mixture :
- Use bottled mineral water to avoid contaminants like chlorine.
- Add about 10% preservative-free apple or lemon syrup (glucose/fructose).
- Mix the contents of the mycelium tube at a rate of 10 ml per liter of sugar water.
- For example: 15 ml of mycelium for a 1.5-liter bottle, or 50 ml for 5 liters.
-
Mycelium development :
- Place the mixture away from light in a room at a temperature of at least 20°C.
- Let rest for 4 to 5 days until the mycelium filaments develop and the liquid becomes cloudy.
-
Soil inoculation :
- Dig shallow holes or furrows (about 20 cm) in your garden or forest.
- Fill the holes with compost (decomposed dead leaves, wood, straw) or humus.
- Spread the mycelium mixture over the substrate, then add a thin layer of mulch to preserve moisture.
-
Environmental conditions :
- Moisture : Maintain constant humidity, especially during dry periods.
- Temperature : Favor a moderate climate between 10°C and 25°C.
- Exposure : Prefer well-sunny or slightly shaded areas to maximize yields.
Seasonality and harvest
- Inoculation : Spring or early autumn, when weather conditions are mild and humid.
- Expected fruiting : Yellow Chanterelles typically appear from June to October, about 2 to 3 years after inoculation.
